Sumi ink painting

As students begin to learn Japanese in their language"exploratory", a new "mini-center" has made it's appearance in the art studio. Students can explore and practice using japanese ink sticks and ink stones, bamboo brushes and bamboo pens. Nan's brother is an artist in Japan and hand-selected many of the ink stones that are available for student use.

Droids standing guard

Two of four droids wait out the night, for 11 year old "L' to return in the morning to add finishing touches. These droids have posable arms, swiveling heads, telescoping necks and in one case, a secret "smuggling" compartment inside the head. One has a light installed behind a screen-like face, and another is designed to be ridden on.
